Hello, just wanted to let you know the engineer was fab yesterday. He gave me a little lesson in electrics and it was also very interesting! He also showed me how to do the circuit board if we trip anything which a lot of engineers don't bother to do. He was very professional and respectful. People are always quick to complain, but I think its nicer to send good feedback when its deserved!
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a report, not a certificate, assessing the existing electrical installation against current national standards. It includes the Electrical Installation Condition Report, Schedule of Inspections and Schedule of Test Results, summarising whether the installation is satisfactory and detailing any defects found.
Electrical installations deteriorate over time due to wear and tear, corrosion, damage, environmental influences and excessive loading. It is a legal requirement that installations are maintained in a safe condition, and periodic inspection and testing helps meet this requirement.
EICRs are often required by landlords renting out property, insurance companies, mortgage lenders, for change of use or sale of property, by home owners wanting to check their electrics are safe, and by businesses meeting their legal requirements under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
An EICR includes a detailed assessment of the agreed parts of the installation, with any limitations agreed beforehand. It does not include any remedial work. We give a full briefing explaining the report and advice on how to remedy any issues found.
